Progressive Stages of Paint Correction Right to Left

The difference in level of paint correction is due to the disc used on the polisher and the medium (compound) spread on the disc and applied to the body panel. Cutting discs are more firm and the compound used is much more abrasive. Polishing discs are less firm and not as abrasive.

Cutting is the most aggressive form of paint correction. This level of paint correction “cuts” much deeper and more quickly into the clear coat. This is necessary for deep scratches and/or efficiency when correcting paint. When viewing pricing on the Ceramic Coatings Page, cutting is considered “full paint correction” and adds to the prices displayed.

Stage 1: Cutting

Polishing is a much more common form of paint correction. In our expert opinion, it is the only necessary form of paint correction. If you’re looking for a show-room or museum finish, cutting is highly recommended. If you’re not in the market for that level of correction, polishing will suffice 100% of the time. One thing we will never do, is sell you something you don’t need.

Stage 2: Polishing

What kind of results can you expect?

Detailing paint correction can yield remarkable results for your vehicle's appearance. By addressing imperfections such as swirl marks, scratches, and oxidation, the process can bring about a significant improvement in the overall condition and aesthetic appeal of your vehicle's paintwork.

After a professional paint correction, you can expect:

  • Enhanced Gloss and Shine: The removal of surface defects and imperfections allows the true beauty of your vehicle's paint to shine through. The result is a deep, reflective gloss that makes your vehicle look stunning.

  • Increased Clarity and Depth: Paint correction helps restore clarity and depth to the paint, enhancing its visual impact. This can make your vehicle's color appear richer and more vibrant.

  • Smooth and Flawless Finish: By meticulously polishing the surface, paint correction reduces or eliminates swirl marks, light scratches, and other imperfections, leaving behind a flawlessly smooth finish that feels great to the touch.

  • Restored Paint Protection: Paint correction often involves removing a thin layer of clear coat, which eliminates surface damage and exposes a fresh layer of protected paint. This helps guard against environmental elements and provides long-lasting protection for your vehicle's paintwork.

Overall, detailing paint correction can bring your vehicle's paintwork back to life, revitalizing its appearance and making it look as good as (or even better than) new. Trust Detail USA to deliver exceptional results and transform the look of your cherished vehicle.
